Volunteer Information
visitors and volunteers:
We welcome and encourage you to be engaged in your students' education, and to support the El Monte community through parent/guardian volunteer opportunities!
In order to be in compliance with all MDUSD School Board Policies, and to ensure a safe and effective learning environment is maintained on campus, we have a few simple guidelines and expectations we ask of all volunteers. These guidelines and expectations are designed to keep everyone here at El Monte safe, supervised, and secure.
Steps to Become Cleared For Volunteering at El Monte
1. ALL volunteers MUST be cleared by Mt. Diablo Unified School District through their Volunteer Process (more information can be found here)
2. When volunteering, you MUST sign-in and out in the office. We need to be able to account for all individuals on campus at all times in the event of an emergency, or natural disaster.
3. All volunteers MUST obtain, and wear an El Monte Volunteer sticker on their person, in a location that is visible to staff and students.
4. Prior permission to volunteer from both the teacher and the office must be obtained at least 24 Hours in advance.
5. All volunteering in classrooms will be teacher directed, and will be communicated to families whenever a need for volunteers arises.
Volunteer opportunities to provide Yard Duty Supervision during lunch recesses are available and encouraged! Please sign-up online here (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040F4CABA62AA4F49-50448568-lunch) to register for Yard Duty Volunteering.
Thank you & we can't wait to have you here!
